Gender Issues Network on Alcohol

The Gender Issues Network on Alcohol (GINA) is a project focusing on women and alcohol issues based in Alcohol Focus Scotland.

The network is designed to provide information, support and assistance to all its members and is open to anyone who has an interest in or is involved with people whose lives are affected by alcohol.

1 in 4 women drink more than the recommended daily amount.
Rates of alcoholic liver disease in women are rising.
Alcohol related deaths for women have doubled in the last 10 years.
More than 3 out of 4 girls aged 15 have been drunk at least once.
Pregnant women are advised to avoid drinking alcohol.
