Membership

The GINA network now has over 400 members from a wide range of backgrounds including public health, drug and alcohol action teams, social work, police, students, researchers, nursing, addictions and more.

Membership is free and open to anyone who is interested in or involved with women affected by alcohol. Network members receive a regular e-newsletter, the Alcohol Focus Scotland In Focus newsletter, and other relevant updates on women and alcohol issues, news and events.

1 in 4 women drink more than the recommended daily amount.
Rates of alcoholic liver disease in women are rising.
Alcohol related deaths for women have doubled in the last 10 years.
More than 3 out of 4 girls aged 15 have been drunk at least once.
Pregnant women are advised to avoid drinking alcohol.
